Dear Oregon Economic Development Association Members and Constituents:

2007 Back 2 Business Conference: Thanks to all that attended OEDA's annual conference. By all accounts, our Back to Business Conference in Portland Oregon last month was a success! Our partnership with the TCI Global Conference added international flair and attracted cutting edge speakers from around the globe.

Thanks to all of our board members for volunteering their time and energy toward making OEDA even better. Thank you to our outgoing board members who served this past year: Steve Vincent, Diana Corder, Chris Chandler DiTorrice, Bill Fashing, Charlie Mitchell, Chad Freeman, and Lita Colligan.

Please take the opportunity to get more deeply involved in OEDA. We welcome new ideas, and committee involvement is a great opportunity to boost your community's efforts, get to know other members, share information, network and give back to your state. There are several options to choose from including:

2008 OEDA Committees

Oregon Prospector Committee: Review and recommend upgrades and policy for the Oregon Prospector website to promote industrial sites and buildings in Oregon to site selectors and businesses. Develop and participate in outreach efforts to encourage members and others to list sites effectively. To join contact Renate Mengelberg email

Legislative Committee: Develop a legislative agenda and action plan for the upcoming 2008 session and longer-term strategy for 2009. OEDA is an effective statewide advocate for Economic Development programs and policy. To join contact Ray Burstedt at 503-588-6225 or email.

Earned media campaign: Funding partners work with professional public relations experts to promote Oregon's economic development successes, innovative initiatives, and the many advantages to Oregon as a business location. To join contact Nathan Buehler at 503-986-0550 or email.

Trade shows: Develop a tradeshow agenda for the year and work together to coordinate strategic and effective tradeshow marketing. This effort generates targeted business leads for the OEDA members and the State of Oregon. To join contact Steve Vincent at 541-858-4773 or email.

Membership Committee: Recruit new members, network and find ways to reach out to current members, and develop ideas for adding more value to our members. To join contact Renate Mengelberg at 503-353-4327 or email.

Education and Training: Help develop top-notch professional development training for OEDA members and economic development practitioners. Opportunities include spring and summer training programs and the 2008 Back2Business conference. To join, contact Colin Sears at 503-823-3320 or email.
